Tech Line BHK Black Satin High-Temperature Ceramic Coating – Up to 2000°F
Tech Line BHK Black Satin is a premium ceramic-based high-temperature coating formulated for exhaust systems, manifolds, and other metal surfaces exposed to extreme heat. Withstanding temperatures of over 2000°F (1093°C), this coating provides outstanding thermal protection and corrosion resistance when fully cured.
Designed to air-dry and cure with operating heat (700°F for one hour), it creates a durable satin-black finish with excellent adhesion. Its ceramic structure effectively reduces radiant heat, making it ideal for performance vehicles, race applications, and turbo systems.
⚠️ For best results, avoid rich or lean start-up conditions before the coating is fully cured, as early heat spikes may damage the resin system.
Key Features:
-
Withstands substrate & ambient temps over 2000°F
-
Functions as a thermal barrier, reducing heat transfer
-
Cures with exhaust heat or controlled oven baking
-
Long-lasting, durable satin-black finish
-
Ideal for headers, turbo housings, manifolds, and more
Application Instructions – Tech Line BHK Ceramic Coating
Surface Prep:
-
Sandblast with 120-grit aluminum oxide only (❌ no glass bead).
-
Clean thoroughly using acetone, lacquer thinner, or similar non-petroleum solvents. Allow to dry completely.
Application:
-
Spray a thin, even coat (0.001″–0.0015″) using an airbrush or touch-up gun.
-
Avoid heavy build-up.
-
Do not apply a second coat once dry.
Dry & Cure:
-
Air-dries in minutes.
-
Install and cure in place using exhaust heat: idle or drive gently for ~60 minutes, or until no smoke/vapor is visible.
-
Ensure good ventilation during curing.
⚠️ Important:
-
Avoid applying to new engines or engines with incorrect tuning (lean/rich conditions) during the cure phase—this may damage the coating.
