Rustbuster Cold Galvanising Paint is a zinc-rich primer engineered to deliver industrial-grade protection for steel surfaces. Using high-performance zinc pigments, it forms a durable, self-protecting barrier that prevents rust and extends the lifespan of metal structures in even the harshest environments.
Unlike basic air-drying zinc coatings, Rustbuster Cold Galvanising Paint features a reactive binder system with a chemical curing mechanism. This means it doesn’t rely solely on environmental drying — instead, it actively cures to create a tough, adhesive film that offers greater durability and resistance to mechanical wear.
When applied to properly prepared steel, the zinc-rich layer provides galvanic (sacrificial) protection — the zinc corrodes in place of the steel, shielding it from rust and ensuring long-term performance.
In zinc coatings, the term “Type 1” or “Type 2” refers to the binder chemistry:
Type 1 (Organic) uses epoxy or similar binders for flexibility and strong adhesion.
Type 2 (Inorganic) uses silicate binders, offering very high zinc loading but less flexibility.
Rustbuster Cold Galvanising Paint utilises a Type 1 organic binder, providing an excellent balance of adhesion, toughness, and long-term corrosion resistance.
Even though it’s a single-component coating, it still includes an active curing mechanism, giving it superior performance to simple zinc aerosols or tin-based products that rely only on air drying.
