It is interesting that even in an online world, the humble printed catalogue is still many people’s preferred method of accessing product information. Ordering by phone rather than online is still also very much alive. We know this from personal experience here at Rustbuster.
Managing Director Chris Allen says: “We receive phone calls throughout each week from customers requesting a copy of the catalogue. Likewise, telephone sales are still important to our business. Although most of our sales are online, we appreciate that many people don’t use the internet and the combination of a catalogue and telephone ordering is still very important.”
In fact, an Office for National Statistics study last year revealed that just 67% of those over the age of 65 considered themselves ‘daily or almost daily’ internet users. The same study found that 2.7 million UK adults had not used the internet in the previous three months.
