Light Oil Rust proofing

If you do not want to use a heavy grease or wax type of rust proofing or need to be able to wipe off easily then using an oil-based thin film rust-proofer is the answer. Using light oils as an extender or thinner to certain coatings improves the flow and penetration by lowering the surface tension of an oil-based coating. We have several light oil products, each has its own purpose and specific use. Feel free to ask for more information.

Owatrol Oil

An oil-based product that can be added to oil-based paints to aid penetration and flow. The removal of surface tension from the coating by using Owatrol oil will improve its rust inhibiting abilities. Dries to a flexible dry to the touch film.

Owatrol oil can be used neat as a penetrating primer for rusty substrates particularly when injected into hidden cavities. Corroded steel primed with Owatrol oil can be overpainted. Available in aerosol or bulk containers

Fluid Film

When used as a penetrating or surface treatment Fluid film forms a very durable barrier to even salt water. Fluid film can be applied to delicate equipment and is easily removed when required. Available in aerosol or bulk containers. Non-drying transparent yellow film.

Corrolan Penetrator

A very light oil thin film rust proofing penetrator made from sustainable Lanolin oil that can be used as a stand-alone product or as part of the Corrolan Lanolin system. Corrolan penetrator is made from sustainable Lanolin in sizes from 1 L up. The Corrolan Penetrator formulation contains safety solvents which are low Voc and hydrocarbon free. The aerosols contain low Voc propellant. Clear non-drying self-repairing film. Good for releasing corroded steel and aluminium components. Use to penetrate seams and steel interfaces. Aluminium to steel corroded interfaces. Suitable for any metal to GRP plastic corrosion.

WD-40 is an all-purpose liquid for displacing moisture, corrosion control, lubrication, cleaning and penetration. It can penetrate the minute grain boundaries on all metals. Although not essentially a lubricant, WD-40 is regularly used to lubricate all light machinery and electrical equipment. WD-40 protects metal from rust and corrosion, penetrates stuck or jammed parts, displaces moisture, and lubricates just about anything. WD-40 is also great when it comes to cleaning grease, grime, and other marks from most surfaces. WD-40 is a mixture of chemical concentrates suspended in a high-grade petroleum distillate. It will not affect fabrics, rubbers or plastics. Its working temperature is between -100 F and +500 F.
