Technical Data - fe-123
A single pack water thinned, air-drying, rust converter, pigmented with zinc phosphate anti-corrosive pigments.
Properties and Areas of Use:
Water resistant with good anti-corrosive properties
Suitable for wire brushed and hand abraded steel surfaces
Non-Pammable
Suitable for use on structural steel and machinery
Low odour
Can be applied over slightly damp surfaces
Temperature and General Information (material at 20ºC):
Colour Range - White (colour change to black indicates that effective rust conversion has taken place)
Specific Gravity - 1.38
VOC Content - 29 grams/litre
Theoretical Spreading Rate - 10 square metres per litre (loss factors will apply in practice)
Surface Dry - 20-30 minutes
Overcoating Interval - 2-3 hours minimum - Maximum unlimited
Storage Life - 12 months minimum
Flash Point (Abel) - Non-Pammable
Suitable Surfaces:
Steel mechanically prepared to SIS St 3, by wire brush and disc or hand abrading.
Application Climate:
Substrate temperature should be 10ºC or above for application and during cure and a minimum of 3ºC above the dew point. Relative humidity should be below 60% and adequate dry air ventilation supplied during drying.
Application Information:
Application and use should always conform with the codes of practice described in BS 6150 and BS 5493.
Brush:
Best method of application to ensure penetration into any remaining rust residues.
Conventional Air Spraying and Dipping:
